Those who love music are always searching for that band which, at least, won’t make you turn the volume down when visiting their Myspace page. We feel on top of our own personal “musical world” when we find a band that, after listening to the first song we can’t wait for their next. We’re not talking about the feeling of listening to a song multiple times to get a sense of how we really feel about the music, but the sensation of being completely stoked and ready for the entire CD. The feeling that drives you to learn more about the band and the musicians, searching for pictures and tour dates; that rare sensation when the creativity and talent of a new band, really, grab our attention. |

The American band, In This Moment, is a great example of the phenomenon described above and is building a huge network of followers through the “Myspace effect” of music marketing.
With a female vocalist mixing clear and screaming lines and only 4 years on the road, the band keeps captivating crowds around the world, playing with legends such as Ozzy, Rob Zombie, Megadeth and others. With 2 albums recorded, “Beautiful Tragedy” and “Forever” they’ve been spending most of their months on tour around the globe, with such an energy that makes any old school reunion band back on tour jealous.
If that’s not enough to spark your interest, here are six reasons for you to, at least, check out their Myspace page (www.myspace.com/inthismoment).
1 – The band was discovered by Ozzy’s bassist.
2 – They are not trying to revive anything and sound like themselves.
3 – The band makes a combination of catchy riffs and heavy guitars that are, to a minimum, interesting.
4 – They play covers of Slayer and Pantera (remember, it’s a female singer) with a lot of class.
5 – Live, they are a tight, charismatic, energetic and heavier band.
6 – The band has a lot of talent and it seems that all that is just the beginning. |
