It was at Credicard Hall, in S. Paulo, on the 15th of February that the German band Edguy did the first concert outside European Union for the album tour Tinnitus Sanctus. The band had been to Brazil before and it's pretty well known by the Brazilian audience. Singer Tobias Sammet has probably lost the count of how many times he'd been here.

The concert started with a 22-minute-delay but when they got on stage they were full of energy and seemed to be having fun even though some fans threw a clown's nose on Tobias that hit his left eye besides some clothing accessories (!).

The band played songs from the new album together with some very well known ones. On “bis time” songs were Nine Lives, Lavatory Love Machine and King of Fools, together with a speech from Tobias talking about those who tried to convince the band of not coming since big bands would be on tour in Brazil and probably Edguy's audience would not attend it. They would rather save money to go to these concerts.

They did a good show in spite of some nonsense stupid jokes Sammet did asking questions, such: “Is there any woman here? Would any of you like to go to bed with me?” After that he got a big boo from the audience but insisted on another joke: “Is there any man here? Would you like to go to bed with Felix?” It has affected his concentration at the beginning of the song Save Me, one of the highest moments of the evening, being sung by the audience in choir.

Instruments were tuned, performance and playing were good.

After the first half of the concert Mr. Sammetエs voice started to get rough, though, showing that he was really tired after only 30 minutes of singing. A negative mark at the show was the sound quality, the volume...we could hear a huge mass sound and since it was over the human years comfort stage, the sound was very messy. Between songs we could hear that terrible “zwiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiim”.

At the end of the concert, as it had to be, Samment started another “teasing moment” saying they were going to play in Buenos Aires and he believed the crowd there would be more excited and noisy. At that moment he really got all the boos he could.

There was an average of 2 thousand people at Credicard Hall and although there were a few problems, the audience seems to have liked the concert.

By their music, Edguy will still popular among its Brazilian fans.
