EDITOR´S NOTE:
Hello Rocker! Me and the Hard Blast team want to apologise for these weeks without any updates but I´ve been quite busy covering the summer festivals to give you great photos, reviews and news. We´ve been also working on new partnerships to upgrade the website and improve our work. In a couple of weeks everything will be back to normal and you can wait for great stuff! Besides Tuska Open Air and Hellfest, we were at Ruisrock, Sonisphere, will be at Ankkarock and have done great interviews which are coming soon. All this traveling will be over soon ´cause summer is unfortunatelly close to the end so, don´t give up on us! We´ll be back even better!!! Stay rock!

Right after Tony Martin´s concert the expectations changed. Now it was Joe Lynn Turner´s turn to show the fans what he still can do. Course fans were curious about his set too, would there be more Rainbow, more Purple, more songs from his solo career?

The answer is quite simple: Everything and a little more since he planned a complete retrospective of his career, playing songs from all phases.

The break between the concerts was a little big but Joe got on stage around 11:30pm and did a very intense show giving to everybody all his kindness, making jokes with those in front of the stage and mostly with fans who were singing his songs by heart. He was really paying attention to everybody, to all reactions.

The first song was Death Alley Driver, from the Rainbow album Straight Between the Eyes (1982), followed by I Surrender and The Power of Love.
Excellent choices to open the concert and warm up the audience, by the way, as they are strong songs. I´ve never seen so many cameras and Even Joe made a joke about it talking about videos and Youtube: “Nowadays everything is on the Youtube, if you go to the bathroom and there is a camera, the next day there you are, taking a piss on the Youtube”.

Taking turns between water and “caipirinhas” Joe´s concert was complete for the fans with a bit of everything, Rainbow, Deep Purple, Malmsteen, solo career, no doubt wonderful to the Brazilian fans that had seen him only with Deep Purple in 1992.
The band playing with Joe was 100% Brazilian. Davis Ramay (guitar), Diego Padilha (bass) Riq Ferreira (backing vocals), André Andrade (drums) and Bruno Sá on keyboards, one of the best keyboard players we´ve got in Brazil undoubtedly.

There were several nice moments such as Losing You and Endlessly.

To the end, a very expected moment with Malsteen´s Deja Vu, Rainbow´s Spotlight Kid and Deep Purple´s Burn, obviously sung by everybody in the audience.

The concert could have lasted all night long since set list is something Joe Lynn Turner has and there were many people willing for more, but unfortunately it was over. Joe ended up happy though and promised us to come back. The sound, made by Flávio Pascarillo, an excellent professional from Rio de Janeiro and the audience´s energy really helped Joe to make it happen.

He showed who he is, that his voice is still wonderful and that for many years we´re gonna have him present not only with his songs but also with all his funny and odd dancing (I had to mention that...).

This is how we could watch a historical evening with two big names that are part of the rock history: Tony Martin and Joe Lynn turner at the same event, the same night.

Being part of it was just great.
